Beyond Fear and Silence
A series of reports by AIS examining the impacts of federal policy changes on immigrant survivors of violence
October 27, 2026 – Today, the Alliance for Immigrant Survivors (AIS) published the executive summary of a coming three-part report series, tentatively called Beyond Fear and Silence, which will be released over next three months and added to this landing webpage.
Our series will examine federal policy changes over the last two years that impact immigrant survivors, focusing on three essential elements:
Expanded immigration enforcement.
Barriers to survivor based immigration relief.
Access to essential supports.
These resources will also highlight how advocates across the country are working collectively to meet the challenges of this moment as well as provide recommendations for policy paths forward to help survivors seek help, obtain protection, and rebuild their lives.

In 2025, AIS released a report, Fear and Silence: 2025 Insights from Advocates for Immigrant Survivors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Human Trafficking, exploring changes to federal immigration policies that negatively impact the help-seeking behaviors of immigrant survivors—including their willingness to engage with law enforcement when they are a victim of a crime.
